What awaits you on a trip to Ohio Caverns?
Ohio Caverns is often recognized as “America’s most colorful caverns.” The caverns are the largest in the state, with approximately 1 mile of surveyed passage ranging in depth from 30 feet to 103 feet. In the Summer, two different tours take guests through different parts of the caverns. In the Winter, one tour is offered, showing guests highlights of the caverns.
Ohio Caverns is a privately owned business. Ohio Caverns staff go to great lengths to protect the delicate cavern environment so future generations can view the cavern as it is viewed today. The goal is to make sure Ohio Caverns remains known as one of Ohio’s premier outstanding natural attractions.
Ohio Caverns is an all-weather attraction and is open all year. Each tour is guided and is an easy walk through the cavern. All tours take approximately one hour. The temperature remains a constant 54 degrees throughout the year. The tours are educational and provide the public with an opportunity to see the wonderful world of underground beauty. Photography is welcome!
Many conveniences are provided for your comfort and recreation. A 35-acre well maintained park is located directly above the caverns and contains a playground, picnic shelters, other picnic areas, EV charging stations, and restrooms. A rock and gift shop is located within the Visitor’s Center building. It contains souvenirs, clothing, and other unique gifts and memorabilia, along with a wide assortment of rocks, minerals, and fossils.
